PERSPECTIVES

TAKE A WALK

I wasn't meant for this.

I wasn't meant for something this great or to live a life with such power. I wasn't meant for that and I never have been. Not a single day have I been called to hold such a torch.

I was never meant to be afraid.

To have such a thief steal my greatest dreams. To allow something so powerful- it is capable of holding me in a box my entire life. I wasn't meant for this and I never have been. I never will be. It's a tide I can't go with, for if I do it'll drown all the hopes I hold. And if not hopes? Hopes for the future, hopeful dreams, hope in purpose, if not these then what does a heart hold? It can hold fear just as easily as it can hold the courage that hope requires- only fear doesn't like strangers. It allows no one beyond the company it keeps: doubt, insecurity, lies... Fear has no room for great things that lead to greater things.

See, fear is great and powerful but it leads to nothing great, leaving us powerless. Hope is a great thing that leads to greater things. Your dreams are great thoughts that will lead to a greater reality. Your doubts are great fears that will lead you as far as you are willing to go, for as long as you are willing to allow it. Its not that fear begins where hope ends. The ability to fear will always be there, but where hope begins fear's presence fades. Fear will always be here. It will always be around in this world we live in.

But it does not have to be in us.

It doesn't have to have a say in our decision making, our risk taking, or our dream chasing. Because honestly, we already know what it will say,

YOU CAN'T.

IMPOSSIBLE.

YEAH. RIGHT.

No one enjoys a broken record and there's no need for that to be the soundtrack of your life. There are greater things to sing, greater music to compose.

Nothing great has ever come from fear. But great people have emerged from it- those who walked away.

So take a walk.

Get outside. See the world. Take a risk. Pursue your dreams. Who you are makes a difference.
